When Animals Attack....

Well,

6 months ago we couldn't fathom whats going to happen within the next few weeks.. An animal,that's been in chains and shackles since Thanksgiving Night is going to attack!  That's right! TIGER WOODS is returning to GOLF!!

Personal feelings and opinions aside..GOLF NEEDS TIGER WOODS! In fact, they need him more than he needs the game..granted his name has been tarnished (his doing) and thrown through the mud (his fault), but you know the golf world was itching for a spark since his 'break' from the game. There's all kinds of speculation about how he'll act when he comes back..He'll be kinder, gentler, friendlier.... I say WHY???

A year ago, Tiger was the family man we all needed to be, the perfect husband, dad, pet owner, etc. etc... Now that his whole persona has been stripped..He might as well come back angry, surly and ready to attack! 

To steal some lines from Drake..this is what's gonna go through Tigers Mind when he returns @ the Masters :

killing all these GOLFERS you would swear I had a hit list,
everyone who doubted me is asking for forgiveness,
if you aint been a part of it at least you got to witness,

2009: Year In Review "My Favorite Sports Teams Version"

Ahhhhhh.. Ao now the time has come to give you my YIR the sports version. We'll cove my favorite sports with this one. I'll make no apology for being completely baised to my teams! If you're a fan of a team you have to be biased! It's YOU'RE TEAM

Lakers:

We're gonna start with my LA Lakers winning the championship this year. As a Laker fan, the hardest this to do was to watch Shaq go to Miami and win a championship..For people like me who stayed Laker fans it hurt Deeply! We went through a few years where Kobe got hurt, Kwame Brown couldnt catch, and Chris Mihm was making millions and never played a game! Then in one trade it all changed. PAU GASOL comes, Bynum grows up, Lamar Odom plays up to his potential finally, D-Fish has a little bit left in the tank.. It just all worked! Finally! One Year after the Celtics ran us out the gym in Boston we redeemed ourselves where it mattered most! It had been since 2003(our last championship)..For Laker fans thats forever.. Couldnt be more happy with them! And it looks like we'll be contending in 2010.

NY Yankees:

What can you say about the Yankees that hasnt already been said..coming into this year..26 World Series..The Lakers of Baseball..Now this past season more than previous ones was make or break for this squad. We bought the Bat in Mark Texeria, the Pitcher in AJ Burnett, The ACE in CC Sabathia. With all that said we had a manager that Had to win. Aging Stars (Jeter, Posada, Matsui, Damon, Rivera). Complete pitching staff in flux..A-Rod HGH steroid talks. Not to mention the most competition in the AL East in yrs with the Rays and our Hated Rival Red Sox. With all that said, this team went on a run that didnt stop til they made it to the trophy. The Bronx Bombers scored runs and had for the most part had pitching to back it up. This was OUR year. And just the Lakers these guys hadnt one in a very long time. In fact it had been since 1999. For your team thats great. For the Yankees..unacceptable. Thats why I root for the Best!

Florida State Football: Farewell To A Legend

This one is bittersweet for me..Coach Bobby Bowden forced to retire after this extremely disappointing season. I'm gonna spend alot of time on FSU. We had a horrible season..lost games we had no business losing. Next Season looks promising in terms of talent. Now to Coach Bowden getting the boot. Bowden is a victim of his own success. Winning the ACC literally EVERY year until recently, 10 straight yrs of 9 plus winds. Top 5 regularly, 2 National Championships. Mind you all this was done in the most competitive state for college football there is. Playing Miami and Florida every season..You know one thing I appreciate about Coach Bowden is that he ran from no team..Nebraska, Oklahoma..Alabama..He ran from no heavyweight program. While I understand that the team needs to do better and Lords knows 6 or 7 wins aint gonna cut it!!! You can't give the boot to the guy that built your program!! He's the reason you have those expectations!! Coach, You're a Legend. Thank You for all the memories. Gator Bowl this New Year will be special.

Duke Basketball:

I appreciate Duke..Like FSU they run from no opponent. Strong team or not they'll play with what they have. The hardest this about being a Duke fan is that these high school to NBA/ 1 yr in college rules have Killed our recruiting!! Duke won the ACC Championship in 09 strong year..No we didnt beat UNC..No we didnt go as deep into March Madness as we would have liked. It hurts! the Duke I grew up to love was cocky, brash, would drop 3's from ANYWHERE..dunk on your MOM nasty! Thankfully Coach K has us playing like that once again. And im looking forward to where we end up in 2010.

Dallas Cowboys:

What is there to say about Dallas?? we choked in december of 08 making our 2009 irrelevant earlier in the year..As of now..We just beat the Saints. Who dat? Cowboys thats who!! Yes this year seems to be different. no choke against the Saints. We can win the division and maybe win a playoff game or 2..who knows. TBD on the Cowboys..may need another post for them..We shall see

To sum up my sports teams of 2009..the Highs were super High..and the lows have the depths of the Grand Canyon..Wouldnt trade the emotions for the world! thats why we love the game!!

2009: Year In Review

This Year..Words can't describe all that we've gone through this year but we're gonna try!

The first black President..History..National Mall crowded will ppl from all over the world to get a glimpse of President Obama taking the oath..WHETHER YOU LOVE HIM OR HATE HIM OR HATE HIM..YOU CAN'T DENY HISTORY WAS MADE..

Recession hit in full force. We saw jobs lost. Car companies go under..AIG and others go on spending sprees and vacations with our money! Bernie MADE-OFF with our investments too!! You know its a recession when celebs dont even go private planes or first class! This year you coulda sat next your favorite celebrity on a Southwest plane!

We had do many tragedies.Kids like Derrion Albert getting attacked at school..What a shame..if you saw the video of his attack it was a gruesome display..hit with a 2x 4 among other things.. My heart goes out to his family who had to bury their son, brother, nephew, cousin, best friend. We had moms stuffing babies in microwaves or women tryna cut unborn babies out of pregnant womens stomachs..

This Was quite a yr..

We had Congressmen act like children while our President gave a speech! "You Lie" screams congressmen Joe Wilson..And I hafta wonder.. had Mr. P.O.T.U.S. been 'white'..would that happen?

This year was the one for Shock value..Via Tiger Woods and John Edwards, Kwame Kilpatrick, and all your other neighborhood Senators, Congressmen, and/or Governors that can see Russia from their back yard (S. Palin Joke!). Now im not gonna hapr on Tiger or anybody else who had an affair or lied to their spouse about X amount of women or men.. I truly hope we can get past putting everybody on such high standing only to wait for their big mistake to bring them crashing down to earth!

Lets address the deaths of 2009..You know people die every day..99% of them are not famous.. I understand that..but we had lots of people you grew up watching pass away. You favorite actors, singers, athletes..all shocking..all passed.. Michael Jackson..Now whats funny is that people came out in droves to tribute him..where were these people when he was alive..we had cast him away as a nut..The Original 'Charlie's Angel' fought hard against cancer and unfortunately lost that battle..Natasha Richardson.. and so many more.. More recently to this week Chris Henry..Now I dont what happened in the last moements of his life..I know I believe people when they say he was turning his life around. 26..26 years old.. Even today, Brittany Murphy, 32 years old..cardiac arrest, passes away. To paraphrase Chad Ochocinco..you never wanna question the man upstairs (God).. you just wonder.. God's plan is God's plan though.

There's so much more I could right about the year that was 2009...so many more stories..joys..triumphs.. but those are the ones that stood out for me.. The first ten years of this decade are nearing an end. I dare say we wont soon forget 2009..No..not for a long while..I said on twitter about 3 or 4 days ago.. "I will not go gently into that good night" signed your friend 2009.

2009......You certainly are not going gently..

Thanks Giving??

For ppl my age or older..we are about to embark on another holiday season..For most of us that means food..friends family and a quick thought about the homeless..We'll slang em some soup and be done with it..

Now this in no way is going to be one of those we should do something blogs just cuz Holidays are approaching..I'm tired of those and I hope this doesn't turn into that.

So heres my question.. What are we doing?? What do we appreciate??

I wish we could appreciate things, people..instead of thinking we're owed everything..Man i wanna appreciate everybody that made it possible for me to be who i am..

Dear.....

For months before my i took that walk down the aisle(marriage) I wanted to write this blog.. I wanted to say goodbye to an old friend..to a partner..a comapanion..

I never really figured out how to do it..and even now i still don't know..but here goes..I wanted to say goodbye to bachelor life.. I wanted it to be special like the way Jay-Z said goodbye in Dear Summer.. you how he put the thoughts and metaphors together to make it seem like Summer was a real person when in reality he was talking about the rap game.. thats what was trying to do with this.. but for some reason it hasnt seemed just right to do until now..so I give you dear bachelor life..

Dear bacheor life,

I'm sure your gonna miss me...man we had some times..but you have times with every guy before he leaves you..i learned alot from you old friend..i learned very young that you were the fun and excitement and energy that leaves a man 40 and 50 yrs old in the club..dont take that the wrong way u have plenty to offer..just not for me..see although you and i were cool we could never stay together..i always wanted a family and kids and love and the whole happy ending..and you couldnt give me that..your just not designed to..you just cant manufacture those feelings and ideals..no doubt your the life of the party and i know you have stories to share with every guy you meet about the fast life and all that..I just didnt want that..it wasnt you it was me..just wouldnt have worked out..We were both there when we saw my wife for the first time..and i think then you even knew like i that what we had was coming to a close..So i guess what im saying is that you taught me alot about myself and my heartfelt thanks comes to you.. without you i couldnt have known exactly the type of women i didnt want..or precisely the one i did..so as i close i wanted to leave you with this:
